Club Honors Rotarians at Installation Dinner6/30/2010
At the annual Installation Dinner many dedicated Meriden Rotarians were honored by President Cliff Carlson. Lex Sorell earned a Presidential Citation for Outstanding Service for his creation and implementation of Lex's List, which led the club towards achieving its goal of donating $2,000 to Rotary International's Polio Campaign. Lex's mother, Tari Marshall-Day Webster, was honored with the Rotarian Rookie of the Year award for her significant contribution to the club in just over a year of service. Dave Lake, a fellow rookie, was also honored with the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Service by President Carlson. In a year of service, Dave led the club (along with his good friend Eric Park) in the creation of a unique fundraiser, the Central CT Pet Fair and Dog Walk. He also took over the reigns of club treasurer from Dan Roman. Dan Roman was aknowledged by the club for his dedication to the job of treasurer for over 25 years. Ty Bongiovanni was honored with the Rotarian of the Year award for his outstanding service throughout the year. Along with serving as assistant treasurer, Ty led a committee in the creation and launching of the new Meriden Rotary website. Along with these individuals many were awarded with Paul Harris Fellows for the first time, perfect attendence awards, Presidential Citations for Significant Achievement, and Presidential Citations for Outstanding Achievement.
